Today’s Question comes from Gloria, a 43 year old woman from NYC who wants to know:
“While it’s true that we should love unconditionally is also true that you can’t build a lasting relationship when there is no mutual respect. I’ve been divorced twice.
Even though at 43 years old I know what I’m looking for in my next relationship: Respect, love, communication, moral values, loyalty, honesty, and above all a compassionate heart. Yet knowing all this, I am still having relationship with people who don’t possess these qualities perhaps out of loneliness or maybe because I think that maybe I’ll never find someone with which to form a permanent and lasting relationship. I’ve settled for mediocre relationships that ultimately have left me with pain and sorrow. My dear Bernardo how can I change this circle of bad decisions? How can I open my heart to the true and pure love? And how to know if that person will ever arrive?”
